Slater hosts Technion Professor
BOSTON - Ken Slater, of Slater LLC, hosted Distinguished Technion Professor and Nobel Laureate Dan Shechtman during Shechtman’s recent visit to Boston. Shechtman discussed the path that led to his 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the discovery of quasi-crystals. Slater and his family are members of Temple Emanuel in Newton. Full Story

Karp will receive K’lal Yisrael Award
NEWTON - On Tuesday, June 11, Steffi Aronson Karp, founder of LimmudBoston, will receive the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts’ K’lal Yisrael Award for her passionate leadership in fostering knowledge, understanding and sensitivity among Jews of diverse backgrounds. Roberta Sydney transforms Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE - Roberta Sydney, President of Sydney Associates in Brookline, is transforming a Cambridge eyesore into a landmark community retail center by year’s end. She held a recent groundbreaking with city officials at 355 Fresh Pond Parkway, site of the former Fresh Pond Seafood. Sydney is building a 12,000-square-foot building with retail shops and pedestrian walkways. Full Story
