Stanley H. Sydney of Brookline, a builder of both buildings and community, died on Jan. 22, 2012. He was 80.

Founder of Sydney Construction, Mr. Sydney lived his life surrounded by loving family and dedicated to supporting his beloved Klal Yisrael.

Maurice P. White, once named Volunteer of Year

Maurice P. White of Providence, R.I, died on Jan. 13, 2012. Mr. White, who had been a long-time resident of Brighton, was 94.

Born in Boston, he was a son of the late Maurice P. White and Isabella (Cooks) White.

Elliot S. Pollak, a man of many experiences

Elliot S. Pollak of Natick, formerly of Wayland, died Jan. 28, 2012, following a brief illness. He was 83.

Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Samuel and Eva (Turner) Pollak and the husband of Arlene (Lefton) Pollak, to whom he had been married for the past 53 years.
