One election down, two to go
Barack Obama in Chicago Tuesday night as he was elected the 44th President of the United States. An MSNBC poll reported 77% of Jews voting for Obama (74% for Kerry in 2004; 79% for Gore in 2000). Across the Atlantic Ocean (above, right) the mayoral race in Jerusalem will be decided on Nov. 11 between city council member Nir Barkat (R), Rabbi Meir Porush (C) and billionaire Arcadi Gaydamak (L). In February, Israelis will choose Kadima's Tzipi Livni, Likud's Benjamin Netanyahu or Labor's Ehud Barak as the nation's next Prime Minister.
