'Hello, Dolly!' revival is right on

Jewish protagonist takes control of her life and the stage in Boston

DOLLY GALLAGHER LEVI and Yente are both take-charge fictional matchmakers in Tony Award musicals, but there the similarity ends. Dolly - the flamboyant New York heroine of Jerry Herm a n ' s "Hello,Dolly!" - relies on sidelines, such as teaching dance or mandolin, and always quotes her departed entrepreneur husband, Ephram, with praise.
