Still blowing strong

When Temple Beth David of the South Shore was founded in 1960, Arthur Fleishman presented student rabbi David Goldstein with a shofar for the new shul. Goldstein responded: “That’s very nice of you, now go learn to blow it.” After being tutored by a rabbi in Wellesley, Fleishman took to the bimah on the High Holidays and sounded the ram’s horn.
