Dardashti combines Persian music, poetic prayers

Galeet Dardashti is a composer, cantor, anthropologist and leader of an all-female band.
Drawing on that eclectic professional background and her Persian Jewish heritage, Dardashti has created the multimedia concert program “Monajat” (Fervent Prayer).
It will be presented Sept. 15 at Tufts University in Medford as part of a national tour.
