At NU, Chabon shares his world
As a Jew growing up in Maryland, Michael Chabon thought of Israel as a fallout shelter. Chabon said he wrote the 2007 novel “The Yiddish Policeman's Union” – about Jewish refugees finding a haven in Alaska – to “build myself a home in my imagination.”
