Israeli researchers are training people who were born blind to visualize objects by using devices that rely on their other senses. The sensory substitution devices (SSDs) were programmed by scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences and the Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada.
